Mr T suffered a fall from his bike whilst cycling home from work. He attended A&E that evening, but was unable to obtain the correct diagnosis of a fracture despite Mr T’s complaints of pain in his wrist.
This resulted in Mr T experiencing an inordinate delay of 3 months for the NHS to appropriately diagnose his fractured scaphoid following the aforementioned fall. He was in a great deal of pain, and could not take part in day to day or sporting activities throughout this period.
As a result of the negligence, he has since undergone a further two operations to attempt to heal the fracture that were not completely successful. Following the successful conclusion of his claim, Mr T has been able to use the damages to have a revision of the corrective surgery required.
